Greetings from America! We have been stateside for a little over a month and have been enjoying our time with some friends and family. God was so gracious to us as the kiddos did great on all the flights and we had zero hiccups in our travels! We had 3 flights: Manila, Philippines --> Tokyo, Japan --> Dallas, Texas --> Dayton, Ohio. Some family friends are allowing us to stay in one of their homes on their property and so many people have lent us toys for Paul and Ruth to play with while we are here. To say we are surrounded and blessed by an incredible community would be an understatement.
Backtracking just a little.. we received Ruth's passport and CRBA a week after we sent out our newsletter - a huge answer to prayer! The school year wrapped up well for Caleb as he had 5th Grade Graduation, class parties, and said goodbye to the seniors that played on the soccer team. We then went into full packing mode as we got our house ready for other people to stay in while we are away and packed our own suitcases. As a "last hurrah," we went on a short trip to the beach with Caleb's parents before flying out.
Our first full week here, we volunteered at Castine Church's VBS with their 5th and 6th graders. We focused on having Christ as our firm foundation, trusting that He is good and His truth never changes. Beyond that, our time has mostly been filled with time together as a family. Paul has been enjoying going to the library, parks, splash pads, etc. and running around with endless energy. We have been able to do lots of different outings with my parents, as well! We have gone to a train festival, a dairy farm, a parade, cookouts, and a farming event.
As we come to the second half of July, we anticipate our upcoming time in Michigan where we will be for August and September. We are looking forward to reconnecting with friends, returning to Impact Church, and visiting places that are dear to us. We will also be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary this July 22nd! It's hard to believe its been that long and, at the same time, that it hasn't been longer. I'm sure many married people can relate to that feeling.
We will also be using this time stateside to continue our support raising. We are currently at 88% of our monthly support goal and 60% for our one-time support. If you or someone you know may be interested in joining our team as a financial partner, please reach out to us. And we ask that you continue to pray alongside us that God would provide for all of our needs in His perfect timing. We hope to visit with many of you soon!
